What it is
A pocket-sized fiber-optic otoscope for inspecting the ear canal and eardrum under light and magnification. It runs on standard cells, which the buyer supplies. Tahir Group of Industries does not supply batteries. It has a slim pen-style body with a hinged optical head, an oval magnifying window, a slide on/off switch, and a slot that takes a disposable speculum through which the fiber-optic light reaches the ear canal. It ships with a 10-piece set of disposable specula in a dispenser tube and 4 reusable specula in 2.5, 3, 4 and 5 mm. The light is fiber optic, from a halogen or an LED bulb; the buyer chooses which on the order.

What it does
- Examines the ear canal and the eardrum.
- Helps diagnose ear infection, earwax blockage, foreign bodies in the ear canal, and a perforated eardrum.
- Used by physicians, nurses, ENT specialists and trained clinical staff as part of routine examination and in training programs.
- The fiber-optic light path gives a more concentrated, more even light at the speculum tip than a bulb mounted at the tip.
- This is a direct-view otoscope. It has no squeeze bulb, so it does not test eardrum movement.

How to use and care
Otoscope (ear examination)
- Choose a speculum as wide as the ear canal allows without discomfort, and fit it onto the otoscope head.
- Switch the light on.
- Pull the outer ear gently up and back on an adult, or down and back on a small child, to straighten the canal.
- Hold the otoscope like a pen and rest the side of your hand against the patient's head, so the speculum moves with the head if the patient moves.
- Insert the speculum a short way into the canal and look through the window at the canal wall and the eardrum.
- Withdraw, switch the light off, and remove the speculum for cleaning or disposal.
Care and cleaning
- The specula are disposable: use one per patient and discard it.
- Wipe the handle and the heads with a soft cloth dampened with a mild disinfectant. Do not immerse them in liquid and do not autoclave them.
- Clean the viewing window and lenses with a lens cloth only.
- Take the batteries out when the instrument will not be used for a long time.
- Store the otoscope in its pouch after use.

TGI checks the material at the factory against its own requirement before it goes into production. That check is TGI's own inspection, not an independent laboratory test.

One-year guarantee on Premium and Executive tier instruments, hollowware and sterilization containers: any technical manufacturing defect, including material faults and rust, is replaced free of charge. Damage from handling or accidents is not covered. The year runs from the day the goods leave Sialkot.
If something is wrong with a delivery (a manufacturing defect, or a short or wrong article), tell us on WhatsApp within 7 days of delivery, with a video and photographs of what arrived.
