A Mackintosh is a waterproof rubberised sheet laid over or under the bed linen to keep fluids off the mattress and bedding.
A mackintosh sheet is a waterproof rubberised sheet used on a hospital bed, laid over the mattress beneath the patient so that urine, blood and other fluids do not reach the mattress or the bottom sheet. It is bed linen rather than an instrument: it has no working end, no joint and no moving part. In use it is laid across the bed under the patient's trunk and hips and is covered by a cotton draw sheet, so the rubber face is not in direct contact with the skin; nursing practice describes it as extending from about the patient's shoulders to below the knees. The whole sheet is impermeable rather than absorbent, which is what separates it from a padded or disposable absorbent underpad. It is supplied as sheeting cut from a roll and is made in a range of thicknesses and in more than one color.

How it is built
- Waterproof sheeting of rubber or rubber/plastic-coated fabric; the full area is impermeable, not absorbent
- No working end, joint, hinge or moving part, an article of bed linen, not an instrument
- Supplied as roll stock and cut to length; made in a range of thicknesses and in several colors
- Laid on the mattress under the patient and covered by a cotton draw sheet, which is the layer the patient lies on
- Cleaned and used again rather than discarded after a single use, unlike a disposable underpad

Every batch of steel is ordered to a specified grade and arrives with the mill's own certificate, which identifies the mill and states the grade. TGI checks the material at the factory against its own requirement before it goes into production. That check is TGI's own inspection, not an independent laboratory test.
TGI manufactures in its own factory in Sialkot and also supplies articles made by contracted partner workshops, to TGI's specification. Which applies to a given article is confirmed on your order.
One-year guarantee on Premium and Executive tier instruments, hollowware and sterilization containers: any technical manufacturing defect, including material faults and rust, is replaced free of charge. Damage from handling or accidents is not covered. The year runs from the day the goods leave Sialkot.
If something is wrong with a delivery (a manufacturing defect, or a short or wrong article), tell us on WhatsApp within 7 days of delivery, with a video and photographs of what arrived. Replacement instruments are sent free of charge and dispatched within 24 hours of us seeing them; you pay the shipping, and they reach you as a normal order does.
Damage that happened after the goods left Sialkot is a claim against your carrier. The video of your parcel at the shipping office is sent to you before shipment and is the evidence that claim needs.
