Wire cutting pliers are a two-jaw hand instrument that closes on a pivot joint to shear through wire, rather than gripping or bending it. A hardened-steel or tungsten-carbide insert is set into each jaw face at the point where the cut is made, and the handles are joined by a box joint or a single-pin joint, often with a spring between the handles that reopens the jaws after each cut. The orthopedic pattern is built to cut round surgical wire and cerclage wire used in fracture fixation, while the orthodontic pattern has a shorter, narrower jaw so it can reach inside the mouth and cut archwire, ligature wire or a wire pin end close to a bracket. What separates it from a wire-holding or wire-twisting plier standing next to it in a catalog is that its jaw faces meet edge to edge to shear the wire, instead of a textured jaw face built only to grip it.

Finish A color is a second choice, made on top of the line. Colored finishes on request, on any instrument, in addition to the steel line. Evidenced: black · gold · rose gold · blue · rainbow (anodised titanium).
How it is built
- Two jaws close on a pivot joint in a shearing action, not a gripping action.
- The cutting edge in many patterns is a separate hardened-steel or tungsten-carbide insert set into the jaw face, rather than an edge ground directly into the body steel.
- Handles are joined by a box joint or a single-pin joint; a coil or leaf spring between the handles is common and reopens the jaws after each cut.
- Some patterns add a groove or clip in the jaw that holds the cut-off wire end so it does not fall free, sold as a 'cut and hold' or 'flush cut and hold' variant.
- Orthodontic patterns are also made with an offset or angled jaw so the tip can reach the back of the mouth without the operator changing hand position.
- Jaw faces are often serrated near the pivot so the wire is held in place before the cutting edge closes on it.
- Larger orthopedic patterns use compound-leverage (double-action) handles for heavier-gauge wire; smaller patterns use a single-action jaw.

This is the steel each line is made from as standard. A different origin can be supplied on request (a lower grade in Japanese steel, for example), agreed on your order.
Premium is the line where the choice is yours: 420 or 440C, agreed on your order. Economy is always 410 and Executive is always 440C. Those three are the instrument steels. Hollowware and sterilization containers are made in AISI 202 on a Clinical order and AISI 304 on a Premium or Executive one, and they are not offered in the Economy line at all, which is the section above.

Every batch of steel is ordered to a specified grade and arrives with the mill's own certificate, which identifies the mill and states the grade. TGI checks the material at the factory against its own requirement before it goes into production. That check is TGI's own inspection, not an independent laboratory test.
TGI manufactures in its own factory in Sialkot and also supplies articles made by contracted partner workshops, to TGI's specification. Which applies to a given article is confirmed on your order.
One-year guarantee on Premium and Executive tier instruments, hollowware and sterilization containers: any technical manufacturing defect, including material faults and rust, is replaced free of charge. Damage from handling or accidents is not covered. The year runs from the day the goods leave Sialkot.
If something is wrong with a delivery (a manufacturing defect, or a short or wrong article), tell us on WhatsApp within 7 days of delivery, with a video and photographs of what arrived. Replacement instruments are sent free of charge and dispatched within 24 hours of us seeing them; you pay the shipping, and they reach you as a normal order does.
Damage that happened after the goods left Sialkot is a claim against your carrier. The video of your parcel at the shipping office is sent to you before shipment and is the evidence that claim needs.
